Cantona: Replace Fergie? Why not

Manchester - Eric Cantona hopes Sir Alex Ferguson will continue as manager of Manchester United. But Cantona admitted he would refuse if there is an opportunity to replace former boss.

Although only five seasons in uniform MU, Cantona was getting a status of "legend". Former French footballer is helping the team won five Premier League titles, two FA Cups and three Charity Shield (now the Community Shield).

Ferguson, who this year will have 71-year-old will step down despite Manchester City Manchester United ouster from the throne, Premier League champions this season. He also said he would continue to train for good health.

"Alex Ferguson is still young, has lots of energy, loves this game, it still has a lot to give, and so on," said Cantona told the Daily Mirror.

"And I want to see them win a lot of things and I want Ferguson became manager forever. He is a winner, that's why he's won a lot of things."

"The remarkable thing with him, the next game as the first game in his career and he gives you that - his passion, his love for this sport and would love to win a lot of things."

Even so, when asked if willing to replace Ferguson coached MU, Cantona did not resist.

"I would say 'United are special', of course I do. Now I am still working on the New York Cosmos," said Cantona.

"But if one day there is a chance, why not? Like dive from here to the sea, see, talk to fish, octopus, crab, journalists."
